Information about hamta pass valley –

Welcome to the Hamta Pass (Pre-Monsoon) Trek approximately 14,100 feet above sea level — a spectacular journey through a landscape of gigantic mountain valley. We promise you an unforgettable experience.

The Hamta Pass Trek is well known among international trekkers and was historically one of the shortest routes connecting the Kullu-Manali region with Spiti and Kaza. The pass has traditionally served as an important crossing for local shepherds and travellers journeying between these contrasting Himalayan landscapes.

Experience the grandeur of the great snow-covered mountains in their natural setting. In the more remote sections, you can trek for days without encountering human habitation. The wilderness areas is home to a remarkable variety of Himalayan flora and fauna, offering exceptional opportunities for nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.

This exotic and immensely rewarding trek encompasses the breathtaking mountains of  beautiful Kullu and Manali valleys, before crossing the Pir Panjal ranges and traversing the high-altitude Hamta Pass. The route continues towards Chhatru, Chandratal Lake (the Lake of the Moon) and the magnificent Spiti Valley.

One of the notable locations along the route is Bhalu Ka Dhera, located approximately two kilometres beyond Juara at the base of Hamta Pass. The area is traditionally associated with Himalayan bears and is particularly known for wildlife activity during the summer months.
